Our Aim

Working together to extend our resources, expertise & experience to connect & empower Waikato couples to plan & enjoy their unique & wonderful wedding day.

who is one wonderful day for?

At One Wonderful Day we are fans of Love, & there's plenty of room for everybody!

In our corner of the world, Love is Love, there are no wedding police or rules you need to follow.

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re planning an intimate backyard soiree, hosting guests at a wedding venue, or creating a live-in, weekend-long wed-estival... we have plenty of experience & ideas to offer, we love seeing folks making plans to suit them & celebrate their way.

What’s a Wedding Fair?

We’re less about huge crowds, & more about connection.

One Wonderful Day is not about slick, well-oiled sales-pitch approaches & a rabbit warren of commercial, black divider walls. What we're interested in is building relationships & offering decent service you want to tell your friends & work colleagues about, not volume, up-selling or free steak knives.

When you come to One Wonderful Day you can expect to meet the real people,
experienced experts who do the work & offer great, personalised service.

Come along & chat. Ask questions. Hunt out suggestions to suit your needs & find friendly professionals you can trust & connect with.
Whether you’re just beginning your wedding planning journey or you’re further into it, with just a few loose ends to tie up, there's something for everyone.

[And because we're only human, & it is the weekend, our friends at Mavis will have coffee available for purchase onsite
& the Good George crew will be opening their taps with beer available for purchase from 3pm.]

Why not join us for some wedding planning & stay for a drink!?

our story behind the wonderful

The story behind the name, One Wonderful Day is one grounded in perspective, walking the line between vibrant dreams & delightful reality.

We believe your wedding day should be Wonderful... but we also acknowledge it is also just One Wonderful Day in the wonderful life you're sharing.

There's plenty of Wonderful still to come, on the other side of your wedding day.

"I was lucky enough to attend the last One Wonderful Day - Waikato Wedding Fair where I discovered many of the exhibitors who came to be an integral and rewarding part of our big day (Abbie Hartland Makeup Artist, Little Hair Co, Petite Posy, Ruth Gilmour Photographer, Sienna Reid Floral Design and The Love Light). The fact that these talented ladies all knew each other, and were able to work together, calmly and confidently helped create a fun and relaxed feeling (much needed when planning what can be an otherwise quite a stressful and complicated process!)"

- STACEY Married at Narrows Landing, 24 March 2017

I attended One Wonderful Day in 2016 as part of the planning for my 2017 wedding & I enjoyed it more than any of the other similar events I attended - it was smaller so you had more of an opportunity to talk to people. Most of the vendors were local so they knew the Waikato venues and other local vendors. I really got the feeling these were truly passionate people, genuine about what they do;
all super friendly and approachable.

The discussion panels included various vendors who answered questions I had found myself asking - which was awesome & really helpful. The panels highlighted that these vendors really knew their stuff.

For our wedding, we used three members of Wed in Waikato, Abbie Hartland Makeup Artist, Creative Box for our wedding invites and Petal Passion for our flowers.  Right from the start these guys were approachable, had fantastic ideas and communication was fabulous. I didn’t once question whether we had made the right decision with any of them! All three were fantastic to work with and we couldn’t be happier with what each of them did for us.
