After hosting last years panel of wedding experts Courtney is thrilled to return this season to start a conversation full of insightful tips and helpful advice for prospective brides and grooms.

Holly Gower-Rudman | Event Manager

How long have you been in the wedding industry? I have worked in the wedding industry for the past three years. What do you love about it? At the risk of sounding cheesy I love how a wedding is a celebration of the bridal couple. Wedding planning is such an exciting time and I love being involved in helping couples plan a day that reflects their personalities. One little piece of advice to future brides and grooms? I recommend taking a bit of time before you start to book things, rather than jumping straight into it. Think about your priorities, if it's a destination or a certain theme, or if you want your wedding to have a particular feeling. If you have a vision you are less likely to get lost in the fog of options that are out there. 

Julia Barnes | Designer & Creator

How long have you been in the wedding industry? Full time for the last 3 years What do you love about it? I love the love!! A day to celebrate the love you and your partner have for each other. And as a bridal designer I love to be part of that day by creating a wedding gown that is a focal part of the day! One little piece of advice to future brides and grooms? Try not to get caught up in the hype of it all - your wedding day is for you and your partner - and a day that your friends and family share with you. Design your wedding day (and your gown!!) how YOU want it to be - an expression of who you are as a couple.

Sam Immers | Catering Coordinator & Executive Chef

How Long have you been in the wedding industry? 7 years now, working as a chef and caterer What do you love about it? I love the reaction from the client and their guests, I still have my old clients bump into me at all sorts of events and in the street now and rave about the food at their wedding still. 
One little piece of advice to future brides and grooms? Plan & schedule when it comes to weddings the caterer wants to know the venue, weather it be in the paddock or a venue with a kitchen, and the timing, this is all reflective on the style of service and how long we need to be at the site & remember that the caterer is the only company left on site to assist you in anything that needs to be addressed on the night, having a trust from your caterer is key.

How long have you been in the wedding industry? Since photographing my first wedding in 2005 I've been part of all kinds of different celebrations. Over the past five years I've really settled into a relaxed documentary style, which I freakin' love. What do you love about it? I'm a mad fan of Love, it's a joy to me to make new friends & see people doing their thing, being their best self. For me, the documentary-based approach serves as the most adaptable & authentic method as record the love, connection & celebration of a wedding day. One little piece of advice to future brides and grooms? Waking up on your Wedding day, know the planning element is over. It's time to go to your wedding, to be there & be part of it; present & engaged. You're about to be part of moments you'll treasure for years ahead - embrace it & really be there!

Hannah Porter | Marriage Celebrant & Wedding Planner

How long have you been in the wedding industry? Just gone 5 years.  I have been a wedding planner for 5 years and a celebrant for almost 2 years.  Plus I got married myself in February 2012. What do you love about it? I love, love.  It's so awesome to see the couples ideas come to fruition, to see them so incredibly happy and celebrating with their family and friends. One little piece of advice to future brides and grooms? There is no rulebook and no right or wrong way to do things.  Picture your perfect day and set about making that into a reality.  Stick to your guns on the things that are important to you, and be a little flexible on those that aren't.

How Long have you been in the wedding industry?  I have been in the wedding industry since 2013, but have been doing hair and makeup since 2008. What do you love about it?  I love seeing that moment when the bride walks out, and her "entourage" lock eyes on her for the first time......so many emotions xx One little piece of advice to future brides and grooms?  You do you! So many brides/grooms struggle with trying to please everyone.......when (in the grand scheme of things) all that really matters is, that they love each other!

Steve Perdia | Musician

How long have you been in the wedding industry? I have been playing music at weddings for about 20 years. I have been to over 1000 weddings and seen it all. What do you love about it? Being in a wedding band, I like sounding really tight and professional as a group and I love it when people dance to the music. I also like being one of people that is helping make the couple feel comfortable and positive about their big day being awesome. One little piece of advice to future brides and grooms? In the long term most people will remember 3 things about your wedding, how beautiful the bride looked in her dress, how good the food was, and the entertainment (did they have a great time after dinner).
